Kate Houck

Kate is not your typical financial planner. In a sea of suits, Kate’s vibrant personality and tremendous smile personify her unique approach to financial planning. Prior to CommonWealth Concierge, Kate was the owner and director of Advent Consulting, which focused on leadership and strategy development. Her work over the last decade has centered on helping individuals to shape and change their behavior and, ultimately, enhance their performance and derive greater satisfaction from their work and personal lives.

Dr. Houck attended Boston University where she received her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in psychology, and was invited to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She then attended the University of Virginia where she received her Masters of Education in clinical and school psychology as well as her Doctorate in clinical psychology. She completed her clinical internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia and held a post-doctoral position within the Virginia Department of Corrections where she focused on the treatment of chronic PTSD and severe mental disorders.

Kate brings a holistic approach to her work. She offers a unique, conversational style of gathering pertinent information and makes the entire process feel like lunch with your best friend.

Kate keeps her finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the “real world” as she is an active member and contributor to numerous organizations and non-profits:
